WOMEN'S HEALTH

Low back pain, diastatis recti, urinary incontinence, and tail bone pain, and pain with intercourse can all be treated with conservative methods..  For patients seeking prevention on the issues above, we provide education and manual techniques to improve the health of your connective tissue and prevent problems such as perineal tearing during delivery. For patients wanting to strengthen their abdominal, pelvic floor, and back muscles for an easier labor, delivery, and ease of picking up your baby we can guide you through specific exercises and develop a home program that you can really stick to.

Mags understands the physical changes women face when aging and the science to prevent and decrease health issues such as osteoporosis, pelvic organ prolapse, and humping in the upper back and neck. Patient Education is an important piece of each visit.  The pelvis is a complicated and special part of the body and many women may not understand or feel connected to the pelvis.  It has been shown in research that women that understand their medical problems get better faster.

She treats with an empathetic ear and will work with you through all layers of your health issues.  She has extensive post-graduate training, thousands of hours of education and experience beyond a standard physical therapist on pelvic, obstetric and gynecological physical therapy.  Mags also has success working with men for pelvic rehabilitation.

Mags uses a variety of treatment modalities as needed including but not limited to: manual therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal Massage TM (AT-MAT), Strain-Counterstrain, functional mobiliaton, joint mobilization, computerized biofeedback, electrical stimulation, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), neuromuscular re-education, core stabilization, Pilates, stretching, and more. Most importantly all clients receive a customized home program so you continue to improve at home. For those seeking WELLNESS care we also have group classes.
